Overview

Many Carnegie Mellon graduates will go on to lead teams, manage organizations, shape public policy, or guide important strategic decisions. Success in these roles requires more than technical expertise. It requires the ability to analyze complex problems, negotiate among competing interests, evaluate evidence, and turn good ideas into effective action. The Policy and Management minor develops these skills through the study of organizations, leadership, decision making, and public policy.

Students learn how effective managers and policymakers develop strategy, communicate across multiple stakeholders, lead organizational change, and balance economic, political, and organizational realities. The minor complements a wide range of majors by preparing students to lead thoughtfully and effectively in whatever profession they pursue.

Students may double-count two courses with another major or minor.

Some courses have additional prerequisites.
